A Cath Inspired Blanket

You probably know me well enough by now, that it should come as no surprise that I take a liking to Cath Kidston and her floral wares.  Cath and I do however have a sketchy history-she doesn't like to fulfill my orders for some reason.  Because of that I rarely order from her anymore.
I did see a granny blanket of utmost goodness on her website and thought that I must make me a crocheted treasure in its likeness.  I think the originals were either red or green, but I couldn't take my eyes off this blue!  I tried to include some of her vibrant colors, I did though have to tone it down just a bit.  I even put red in it-I am not a red person, especially in home decor, but this is working for me.
And so this little number was born.  Admittedly, it has been finished for quite some time, but I've never had it out to take pictures of it.  So this is her maiden voyage so to speak.  In fact, the yarn was purchased so long ago that I can't even reference it for you (which always bothers me when people post a picture of something they made and don't tell where the materials cam from)!  Sorry, I am one of those people today. I think yarn looks better in its basket without the labels.  They promptly get ripped off , I just hope that I'm not short and have to order more.  So, if a project sits for more that a couple of months and I don't have the foresight ( I rarely have foresight) to write down what the heck it was- just forget about it.  I can tell you that the yarn came from here and that most of it is likely Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran.
Oh yes, and my new pillow too.  Made from Emma's crib sheet.  I kept it intact until we knew that #2 was a indeed a boy and then it got cut up.  I mean what would he do with a floral crib sheet? It was Pottery Barn Kids and so I certainly wasn't going to sell it on a garage sale for a nickel.  So a pillow cover it is.  Amazing just how little material was in that crib sheet. Enough to cover a pillow,a small one at that.

love the crocheted blanket, darling colors. it's reminiscent of ms. kidston, but you've made it your own.

i've much better luck phoning my orders into the ck website, rather than ordering on-line. they have a new toll free number for the usa and reduced shipping charges.

and the pillow? ever so cute!
